As I only own a couple of skirts, I try to get the best out of the few dresses I own by wearing them as skirts. This dress is the oldest I currently own and I gotta confess it's probably the one I wear the less because of its length. I somehow feel it makes me look shorter but I was actually happy with the outcome of wearing it as a skirt, I think it doesn't look just that bad. This is a quite cozy look I don't get to wear these days as we're going through an heat wave (as I've told you we would!) so I pretty much only wanna wear a top and a pair of jeans, I feel like walking barefoot around the house and my hair is pretty much always on a ponytail. Another thing I don't get to wear that much are scarves. Funny thing is I've just noticed how much I love scarves. If you browse through my outfit posts, you'll find that in only two of them I'm not wearing a scarf. I think I'm getting more and more addicted to scarves although I gotta say I'm a little bit lazy when it comes to posting outfits here as I usually wear scarves the most simple way on my photos. I truly gotta change that in the future, I'm certain I'll be writing a post out here on how to wear scarves!

Como só tenho umas duas saias, tento obter o melhor dos poucos vestidos que tenho ao usá-los como saias. Este vestido é na verdade o mais antigo que tenho de momento e tenho que confessar que é provavelmente aquele que uso menos por causa do seu comprimento. De certa forma sinto que me faz parecer mais pequena mas até que gostei de como ficou ao usá-lo como saia, acho que não parece assim tão mal. Este é um look confortável que não uso muito por estes dias já que estamos a passar por uma onda de calor (tal como eu vos disse!) por isso basicamente só me apetece usar um top e um par de calças, apetece-me andar descalça por casa e o meu cabelo está quase sempre num rabo-de-cavalo. Outra coisa que não uso muito são lenços. O engraçado é que me apercebi do quanto adoro lenços. Se virem os meus posts de outfits, vão ver que em apenas dois deles não uso um lenço. Acho que estou a ficar cada vez mais viciada em lenços apesar de ter de dizer que sou um pouco preguiçosa quando toca a publicar outfits aqui já que normalmente uso lenços da forma mais simples nas minhas fotos. Tenho mesmo que mudar isso no futuro, certamente irei escrever um post aqui em como usar lenços!

Make-up Monday: Purple Haze

I can't really tell whether I've said here before or not how much I love purple. It is absolutely my favourite colour to wear and well, if I wear it when it comes to clothes, why shouldn't I wear it on my eyes? I've added some pink to make this make-up more colourful and welcome this sunny Spring!

Review: Derwent Studio

I guess you can all tell just as much I love to try out new pencils. A while ago Derwent sent me out this tin of 12 Studio pencils to try out and I gotta confess I've been dying since then to write this review. I used Studio right away to draw a cherry and afterwards I decided I had to use them to draw a couple more fruits. You can see the result on these freebies of jam labels I've put up for download here on the blog.

Acho que todos vós já devem saber o quanto eu adoro testar novos lápis. Há um tempo atrás a Derwent enviou-me esta caixa de 12 lápis Studio para experimentar e eu tenho que confessar que estava mortinha por fazer esta review desde então. Usei os Studio logo para desenhar uma cereja e depois decidi que tinha de os usar para desenhar mais alguns frutos. Podem ver o resultado nestas etiquetas para compota que eu coloquei grátis para download aqui no blog.

Now onwards to the real review! What do I really think of Studio?

Agora seguindo para a verdadeira review! O que eu penso verdadeiramente dos Studio?

On the back of the tin, you'll be able to find this description of Studio pencils and on Derwent's website this is how they promote these pencils:

«If you like the texture and blendability of Artists colour pencils, but prefer a crisper, more precise drawing style, this pencil is for you. Studio shares the same colour core as Artists, but it is slimmer and the wood barrel is hexagonal rather than round.

The result? A colour pencil that is easy to grip and particularly suited to detailed illustration work, such as botanical studies, architectural drawing and graphic design. All tend to be studio-based - hence the name.»

Na parte de trás da caixa, podem encontrar esta descrição dos lápis Studio e no site da Derwent é desta forma que eles promovem os lápis:

«Se gostas da textura e capacidade de mistura dos lápis de cor Artists, mas preferes um estilo de desenho mais rápido e preciso, este lápis é para ti. Os Studio partilham as mesmas cores com os Artists, mas são mais finos e a sua barra de madeira é mais hexagonal que redonda.

Well, I gotta confess I have never tried Artists but yet here are my two cents on Studio:

Bem, tenho que confessar que nunca experimentei os Artists mas aqui fica a minha opinião sobre os Studio:

• perfect for detailed illustrations/precise drawing - definitely true! Studio are much slimmer than comparing, for example, to Coloursoft. I found them much easier to sharpen and to keep a fine point to draw. I really love how easy it was to draw small details in leaves for example! (Oh and Derwent is completely right when they mention it is great for botanical studies, the colour range is amazingly suitable for nature drawings).
• perfeito para ilustrações detalhadas/desenhos precisos - decididamente verdade! Os Studio são muito mais finos do que comparando, por exemplo, aos Coloursoft. Achei-os muito mais fáceis de afiar e de manter uma ponta fina para desenhar. Gostei muito do quão fácil foi desenhar detalhes pequenos tais como folhas por exemplo! (Oh e a Derwent está completamente certa quando menciona que é óptimo para estudos botânicos, a selecção de cores é muito adequada a desenhos da natureza).

• highly pigmented colours - hmm kind of. I found Studio to have very soft colours not just as much intense as you can find on different ranges. Yet, I found this to be a positive aspect on these pencils as they're perfect to use as a "base" layer on a drawing and then add other layers with different pencils as they blend in so smoothly!
• cores altamente pigmentadas - hmm mais ou menos. Achei que os Studio têm cores mais suaves e não tão intensas quando comparadas com outras séries. Ainda assim, achei isto um aspecto positivo destes lápis já que são perfeitos para usar como camada "base" num desenho e depois adicionar camadas com lápis diferentes já que se misturam muito suavemente!

• hexagonal wood barrel - well, this isn't exactly a fact I can question but may I just say how much I love hexagonal pencils? I truly hate when I'm using round pencils and they just start rolling off my desk and end up on the floor, not neat at all!
• barra de madeira hexagonal - bem, eu sei que isto não é algo que se possa propriamente questionar mas posso apenas dizer o quanto eu adoro lápis hexagonais? Odeio quando estou a usar lápis redondos e eles começam a rolar para fora da minha mesa e acabam no chão, nada agradável de todo!

I surely recommend Derwent Studio. In my opinion they're not just as amazing as Coloursoft (I can't help but loving bold colours!) but I will use them a lot on the future. I am currently using them as a first layer to my colour drawings as the colour blends very well and these pencils are not very waxy which allows you to keep adding more layers with different pencils if you want to. I think I will mostly use them on details as it's not so common to find pencils that you can keep sharpened so easily (and I was impressed with the fact not even one single lead got broken!). 

After trying Studio on drawing fruits, I can't wait to do more technical drawings with them - fruits, feathers, flowers,... all kind of nature themes, I think they're perfect for it!

Also I'm seriously thinking on buying a set of Artists to combine with these as I have read they got along very well.

Eu seguramente recomendo os Studio da Derwent. Na minha opinião não são tão fantásticos como os Coloursoft (eu simplesmente adoro cores fortes!) mas vou utilizá-los muito no futuro. Estou de momento a usá-los como primeira camada nos meus desenhos a cor já que a cor se mistura muito bem e estes lápis não têm muita cera o que permite continuar a adicionar mais camadas com diferentes lápis se assim se quiser. Acho que vou principalmente usá-los em detalhes já que não é muito comum encontrar lápis que se consiga manter afiados tão facilmente (e fiquei impressionada com o facto de nem uma única mina se ter partido!).

Após testar os Studio a desenhar frutos, mal posso esperar para fazer mais desenhos técnicos com eles - frutos, penas, flores,... todo o tipo de temas da natureza, são perfeitos para isso!

Também estou seriamente a pensar em comprar uma caixa dos Artists para combinar com estes já que tenho lido que funcionam muito bem juntos.

I would be lying if I told you this shirt got on the top of my faves this week by chance. I totally put this here on purpose because I'm sooo in love with this blouse! I mean, I totally need to get this! First of all, I love the sheer and then, the stars, oh the stars! I know this is going to sound a bit crazy but I love stars! My name means 'star' and well... do you know when you find an object or a symbol to be your lucky charm? I think stars are my lucky charm! I NEED THIS SO BAD!

Eu estaria a mentir se dissesse que esta blusa veio parar ao cimo dos meus favoritos apenas por sorte. Eu pu-la aqui de propósito porque estou tãooo apaixonada por esta blusa! Quer dizer, preciso mesmo dela! Em primeiro lugar, adoro a transparência e, depois, as estrelas, oh as estrelas! Eu sei que isto vai soar um pouco louco mas adoro estrelas! O meu nome significa 'estrela' e bem... sabem quando encontram um objecto ou símbolo que vos dá sorte? Eu acho que as estrelas me dão sorte! PRECISO TANTO DISTO!

The moment I saw these pretty brooches on Oana's blog I told her I had to feature this! It's no secret her illustrations are fantastic but these just take my breath away! Although I'm totally partial on butterflies I gotta confess that little fox is the cutest thing ever! I absolutely love these!!

No preciso momento em que vi estas pregadeiras no blog da Oana disse-lhe que tinha de partilhar isto! Não é segredo nenhum que as ilustrações dela são fantásticas mas estas são de cortar a respiração! Oh my, another thing I MUST share! For those of you who read my blog, you already know how crazy I am about wedges (I mean, I keep telling this but I can't help it!). I think wedges are the best invention ever and these are some of the prettiest I've ever seen! Summer is coming and I am totally digging open wedges that I can wear with pretty dresses... these are the best I've found in a very long time! Can someone please send these at my doorstep?

Oh, outra coisa que tenho MESMO que partilhar! Para aqueles que lêm o meu blog, já devem saber o quão maluca por cunhas eu sou (quer dizer, eu sei que continuo a dizer isto mas não posso deixar de o fazer!). Eu penso que as cunhas são a melhor invenção de sempre e estas são das mais bonitas que já vi! O Verão vem a caminho e eu estou à procura de cunhas abertas para usar com vestidos bonitos... estas são das melhores que encontrei em muito tempo! Alguém pode deixar umas à minha porta?

I'm not sure anyone watches "No Reservations" (I think I probably get fatter just because I watched the programm) but I just found out this week Anthony Bourdain did an episode in Lisbon! Although I would totally take him to taste some more portuguese food instead of just sitting on these chefs' restaurants, I definitely loved the show! Despite the fact Lisbon is not my hometown, it is where I study and I came to love it more than I ever thought... they should have came to Portugal in Summer and the episode would have been even better! Still, major applause to our incredible seafood (I could eat octopus or cod everyday and I wouldn't get sick of it) and the famous ginginhas which Bourdain seemed to love so much (I do understand him! haha). This is a must watch!

Não sei se alguém vê o "No Reservations" (acho que fico mais gorda só por ver o programa) mas descobri esta semana que o Anthony Bordain fez um episódio em Lisboa! Apesar de achar que ele devia ter provado mais comida portuguesa em vez de simplesmente se sentar nos restaurantes destes chefs, decididamente adorei o programa! Apesar do facto de Lisboa não ser a minha terra natal, é onde estudo e acabei por me apaixonar por ela mais do que alguma vez pensei... deviam ter vindo a Portugal no Verão e o episódio seria ainda melhor! Ainda assim, grandes aplausos para o nosso peixe (eu podia comer polvo e bacalhau todo o dia e não enjoava) e para as famosas ginginhas de que o Bourdain parece ter gostado tanto (como eu o compreendo! haha). Têm mesmo que ver isto!

How pretty incredible are these bracelets?! I'm glad I've found Modern Flower Child because their resin jewelry made with real (I know, how fantastic is that?!) dried flowers is so so beautiful! Plus, each piece is one-of-a-kind! Aren't you taken already?

Quão incríveis são estas pulseiras?! Estou tão feliz por ter encontrado a Modern Flower Child porque a bijuteria de resina que fazem com flores secas verdadeiras (eu sei, não é fantástico?!) é tão tão bonita! Além disso, cada peça é única! Já não estão conquistados?

I only found Urban 1972 yesterday morning but this dress immeadiatly caught my eye! I remember I was recently in love with a black&white chevron dress but this is so much better! The colours just pop out and the sleeves are fantastic (they're pretty similar with the sleeves of this dress I own). Plus, be sure to check the link to the store because you'll be in awe with the back of this dress, I promise!

Só descobri a Urban 1972 ontem de manhã mas este vestido cativou a minha atenção imediatamente! Lembro-me que recentemente me apaixonei por um vestido de padrão zig zag em preto e branco mas este é tão melhor! As cores saltam à vista e as mangas são fantásticas (são muito similares às mangas deste vestido que eu tenho). Além disso, vão ver o link da loja porque vão adorar a parte de trás deste vestido, prometo!

Another amazing find I did this week on Etsy was SpiderBunny. I love beauty products (I certainly need to feature them more often here on the blog and I promise than will happen quite often in the future!) and I couldn't help but featuring this! The shop is filled with amazing bath and body products each one with a better smell than the previous one! I had a pretty rough time picking only one product to feature here but - as a major chocoholic - I had to go for this! Can you imagine how good will you smell after putting this on your body?

Outra fantástica descoberta que eu fiz esta semana no Etsy foi a SpiderBunny. Adoro produtos de beleza (tenho que os partilhar mais aqui no blog e prometo que isso irá acontecer mais no futuro!) e não podia deixar de partilhar isto! A loja está cheia de produtos fantásticos para o banho e para o corpo e cada um cheira melhor que o outro! Tive muitas dificuldades em escolher apenas um produto para partilhar aqui mas - como sou uma viciada em chocolate - tive que escolher este! Conseguem imaginar quão bem ficaremos a cheirar depois de colocar isto no corpo?

I love tasty food. Each time I go home, I ask my mom if I can eat something I don't get to eat here... last time I went for cassoulet (I'm starting to feel water in my mouth) but lately I've been craving so much to eat a quiche lorraine that I'm pretty sure this will be my next choice. I know I don't feature food that much out here but I've been thinking about this the whole week! haha

Eu adoro comida saborosa. De cada vez que vou a casa, peço à minha mãe se posso comer algo que não como aqui... da última vez escolhi cassoulet (já estou com água na boca) mas ultimamente tenho andado com vontade de comer quiche lorraine por isso tenho a certeza que esta será a minha próxima escolha. Eu sei que não costumo partilhar muito comida aqui mas tenho estado a pensar nisto a semana toda! haha

Another thing I don't always get to feature among my faves is music. This happens because I usually a song gets stuck on my head and after a week I'll be loving another one. But I'm opening an exception for this one! I found Coeur de Pirate on YouTube's suggestions while listening to french music and the moment I listened to her beautiful voice I had fallen for her music! This is my favourite song of hers and - in case you don't understand a word of french - here's a little translation of the lyrics for you. I'm singing this all day long!

Outra coisa que não costumo partilhar muito entre os meus favoritos é música. Isto acontece porque normalmente uma música fica na minha cabeça e na semana seguinte já gosto de outra. Mas vou abrir uma excepção para esta! Descobri a Coeur de Pirate nas sugestões do YouTube enquanto ouvia música francesa e no momento em que ouvi a sua lindíssima voz soube que me tinha apaixonado pela música dela! Esta é a minha música preferida e - para o caso de não perceberem nada de francês - aqui fica uma pequena tradução da letra para vocês. Eu estou a cantar isto o dia todo!

Free Printables: Jam Labels

I wonder if any of my readers enjoy making jam just like I do. I'm not exactly a pro at it but I certainly like the feeling of actually making something instead of just buying it. Here at home we reuse old jars so I always feel like something is missing there... just an extra touch! That's why I decided to draw some jam labels and share them with you!

Wednesday WIP: Part II

Here it is! The second WIP of the drawing I'm currently working on. I truly hope you'll like it (despite the fact I'm quite sad the colours look so faded on the photo and why the hell does here hair look blueish instead of purple?!). Still have a lot to go until I finish this drawing but I'm quite enjoying it! Be sure to let me know what you think :)

What I Wore: Pastels and Metals

A few weeks ago I went to a party at my university and I wore something similar to this (I didn't wear this blazer otherwise I would be always complaining about the heat). This dress is currently one of my favourite pieces on my closet (I just recently found out my favourite dresses have all flowers, I guess it's because I just love Spring) and I just love how I'm able to wear it so many different ways either as a dress or matching it with a skirt as I did here. I can't wait to wear this dress more often (by the way, I heard this week heat is coming our way, yay!).

I decided to wear this pastel blue blazer my sister gave me not too long ago with some metal details. These are two of my favourite trends for this season so I just had to mix it up for an extra dose of fun. :) The bag was given to me by a friend on Christmas and - according to her - it shall be my 'party bag'. To be honest, 90% of the bags I own are huge (I just need a quite big bag to put everything on the inside) and last year we went to a party together and the bag I wore (which was the smallest I owned) was still quite big for a party so she gifted me this one. I matched it with my silver ballerinas and belt along with my double bee ring (which I absolutely love!).

What's your favourite Spring trend?

Há umas semanas atrás fui a uma festa na minha faculdade e usei algo semelhante a isto (não usei o blazer ou estaria sempre a queixar-me do calor). Este vestido é de momento uma das minhas peças preferidas no meu armário (descobri recentemente que os meus vestidos preferidos têm todos flores, acho que é porque adoro a Primavera) e adoro como posso usá-lo de formas tão diferentes tanto como vestido ou combinando-o com uma saia como fiz aqui. Mal posso esperar por usar este vestido mais frequentemente (já agora, ouvi que esta semana o calor vem a caminho, yay!).

Decidi usar este blazer azul pastel que a minha irmã me deu não há muito tempo com alguns detalhes de metal. Estas são duas das minhas tendências preferidas para esta estação por isso tinha de as misturar para uma dose extra de diversão. :) Esta mala foi-me dada por uma amiga no Natal e - segundo ela - irá ser a minha 'mala das festas'. Para ser honesta, 90% das malas que tenho são enormes (preciso de uma mala que seja grande o suficiente para pôr tudo lá dentro) e no ano passado fomos a uma festa juntas e a mala que usei (que era a mais pequena que eu tinha) ainda assim era um pouco grande para uma festa por isso ela deu-me esta. Combinei-a com as minhas sabrinas e cinto prateados juntamente com o meu anel duplo com uma abelha (que eu adoro!).

Make-up Monday: Burning Earth

A long time ago, back when I started this blog, I thought of posting some pictures of my make-up here. Meanwhile I became to do just a very basic make-up on my daily routine as I get super early in the morning to be in college at 8 a.m. to have classes. I certainly don't feel like getting up even earlier just to do a fancy make-up so I just go for something simple and I end up never pushing myself to get back at my love for make-up. A few weeks ago, when I was planning how to revamp the blog, I decided I had to make this goal come true. I can't wait to share with you some of the different make-ups I make!

Há muito tempo atrás, quando comecei este blog, pensei em publicar algumas fotos da minha maquilhagem aqui. Entretanto comecei a fazer apenas maquilhagens muito básicas na minha rotina diária já que acordo super cedo de manhã para estar na universidade às 8 para ter aulas. Certamente não me apetece acordar ainda mais cedo apenas para fazer uma maquilhagem mais gira e por isso fico-me por algo simples e acabo por nunca puxar por mim mesma a voltar à minha paixão por maquilhagem. Há umas semanas atrás, quando estava a planear como reavivar o blog, decidi que tinha de tornar este objectivo realidade. Mal posso esperar por partilhar com vocês as maquilhagens que faço!

To start up here's a make-up based on browns - which I love at the moment! I end up creating something that matched my earrings. I swear it wasn't on purpose but oh well, it does add a fancy touch to my simple look, doesn't it?
